Since long-span lattice roof structures are generally with whole rigidity and it's characteristic of light, flexible and low damping. With the development of economy and progress of science and technology, more and more long-span roofs have been built, which have individual characteristics in architecture and structure. During the long active service time, the structure maybe presents all kinds of structural damage because such reasons as tired accumulating, environment corroding and natural calamity function, etc. In order to find those damages early, nip in the bud, and lower the damage of accidents, it is great meaning full to research the technique of online damage monitoring of the long-span lattice roof structure.Wind load is an environmental load which acts on structure with long-term time, and is also one of the most important loads to control the structural design. But due to the complexity of long-span roofs in wind loads and structural style, its characteristics of wind-induces and identifications of parameters are the difficulty and focus in the research of wind engineering. If we want to monitor the damage of the span lattice roof structure, the wind-induced responses and identification of parameters become the important problems first of all, which also the key technique of the damage monitoring of the structure.The method of time domain parameter identification is superior to the method in frequency domain: the structural response is only needed to identify the parameters of the structure. For the long-span structure, artificial excitation has many abuses. So develop the method of time plane parameter identification has a great project meaning. Eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) is a excellent time domain method. All the researched results prove the ERA method is steady and suitable for those structures: spacecraft,beam-plane structure,truss structure,frame,bridge, etc.On the basis of the consideration of the above, the major job of the article is to discuss how to identify the parameters of the long-span structure with the method of ERA under the action of the wind loads.
