The Navy and much of the maritime industry use nickel-aluminum-bronze (NAB) as the primary material for propeller construction. This is done for many reasons, including its high stiffness, and low corrosion potential. It is, essentially, the standard in the industry. However, the drawbacks of using NAB are significant. It is heavy. Additionally it is expensive and creates significant noise and vibration. As an alternative, composite bladed propeller have a property of reducing vibration and cavitation, easier maintenance, lighter weight, and greater efficiency. Which give a composite propeller potential for future use.The primary objectives of this paper are to: perform a structural design of a composite bladed propeller. The methodology is relatively simple while the analysis is complex. As the basic concept, the first step is to modeling by UG. There is different model between propeller and commonly hardware, so we must be use curve modeling, at the same time, characteristic modeling and entity modeling in the whole process. First, we apply offset data for spline fit curve, then scanner smooth curve face. After all, we can get model of propeller through circling and stretching.Once this was performed, the modeling will be imported into GAMBIT, which is the preprocessor of FLUENT and can plot out gridding, then combining with the given condition on fluid, we use FLUENT to simulate the situation of propeller and calculate the pressure.We obtain the stress and strain of composite propeller through the research of structural analysis in hydrostatic. It is the basis of laying fibre. According to the same method, we model three different laminated propeller. We get the optimal laminated method through comparing the result, and cater to strength check standard. Now, we accomplish to the design of structure and laminated method on propeller.
