In recent years, silting downstream tidal barriers becomes one of the main reasons that restricting the development of economy in areas around estuaries. The regulation of silting also becomes one important engineering relating to the national economy and the people's livelihood and regulation of estuaries. The paper begins with the need of actual situation of Sheyang estuary. Based on the related international researches and the tendencies, efforts are made in this research as follows:(1) The process of scouring and silting of the reach riverbed was analyzed and the essential rules and tendency of silting was point out.(2) The Present situation in regulation and exploitation was represented and the existing problems were identified and evaluated.(3) The recent development programming meet to Sheyang estuary was described.(4) The material methods of silting alleviation and estuary regulation were brought forward. The methods includes the basic principles, the choice of silting clean out and equipments, the synthetical regulation method meet to combining sand bar regulation and port constructing.All the above provides reference for the father control of silting downstream tidal barriers in Sheyang estuary.As a result, the research in this thesis successfuly achieved the Sustainability in aspects such as the safety of prevent or control flood, the need of Sheyang port constructing be satisfied, the advantaged conditions for economic growth were provided.
