Nowadays, the development of Power Electronics is very fast. High frequency switching power supply has been applied widely because of its merits, such as low volume, high efficiency and low cost, et al. In this paper, the operation principles, circuit characteristics and inherent drawbacks of traditional forward converter are analyzed, according to plenty of literatures. Active clamp forward converter based on one-cycle control is designed.Active clamp single-ended forward converter topology is used. The active clamp forward converter offers many advantages over traditional single-ended forward converter, including lowered voltage stress on the main MOSFET, the ability to switch at zero voltage, reduced EMI, duty cycle operation above 50 percent and resetted the magnetic.One-cycle control mode PWM is used to control the circuit. One-Cycle Control technique is conceived to control the duty-ratio of the switch such that in each cycle the average value of the chopped waveform at the output of the switch is exactly equal or proportioned to the control reference. The instantaneous error in every one cycle can be eliminated automatically and the error belonging to the former cycle can't be brought to next cycle. So such control technique overcome the defects of traditional PWM control ways and have the merits of rapid response, easy to realization and simple control circuit.The theoretical analysis, experimental research of active clamp forward converter based on one-cycle control on operation principle, control strategy and parameter design are done in this paper. Active clamp forward converter based on one-cycle control is built to test the theory. The control method and converter circuit are verified by theoretical analysis and experimental research.
