More and more steel-structure buildings have appeared, and that promotes the faster development of the steel-structure manufacture enterprise. The order of the steel-structure products is more and more, and so is the wastage of steel materials. The reasonable purchase decision of the original materials and how to improve the utilization of the original materials have become extremely important for the economic performance of the manufacturer.The main work of the steel-structure cutting workshop is to prepare the roughcasts. It is the work preface of product process, but it directly effects on the utilization of the original materials, and contacts with the original material stock management and purchase at the same time.In order to make effective use of the surplus original materials, lower the original material cost, give a better advice for the purchase of original materials and enhance the competition ability of the manufacturer, this paper researches on the decision-making of purchasing and the original material cutting in the steel-structure cutting workshop, and develops Nesting Optimization system for steel-structure products.The principal work and conclusions in this paper are as following:(1) This paper analyses the trend of steel-structure buildings,...
