The developments of most ports in our country fall behind in recent years. Information process is still at an early stage. It just serves managers, and still can not sever the workers of field. Workers just record the operations faults and conditions of equipments by hand only, production data can not be reused and shared anymore. The time of equipments repaired when failure occurs is very important to the port running, so how to monitor equipments' conditions and inform the relevant personnel has become a very important problem.The paper puts forward a new idea about local fault variability of repairable system, and establishes a new model of estimating degradation and studies the system degradation. Applying the new method to the port-crane driving and transmitting system, the degrading state can be evaluated efficiently.The thesis analyses the system of the large equipments' condition of a bulking port and shortcomings in chapter one at first, and than puts forward the tasks and goals of this thesis.Chapter two introduces the evaluation of state and repairing method in many large craning equipment of a bulking port at present.A new concept about local fault variability is put forward in Chapter three. The characteristic of the local fault variability is: it is an instant information parameter, reflecting the real-time changing of system's fault.The method of statistics is for use, chapter four analyses state of estimating degradation.
