Traditional evaluations of energy transforming are based on the energy-balance analysis. The energy-balance analysis assumes that various types of energy distinguish from each other only in amount but quality. However, various energy of energy can be differentiated with both amount and quality. The exergy-balance analysis was applied the energetic transaction in order to overcome these shortcomings of the energy-balance analysis. The exergy-balance analysis discriminates various types of energy in quality and amount, which reflects the energetic nature and the energetic transaction or the energy loss. Based on the exergy-balance analysis, the link of the energy transformation in the system can be founded. The direction of the saving energy can be pointed out according to the results. As research case, the thermal cycle process of the advanced energy storage system for air-conditioning and heating using aqueous ammonia as working fluid was analyzed and researched by the exergy-balance analysis method. Based on the exergy analysis model which had been developed in this paper, the exergy loss and exergy efficiency of the system in the air-conditioning and heating condition can be obtained under the full storage strategy. The research results can point out the way to reduce the exergy loss of the equipment and improve the exergy efficiency of the system.According to the study, under the air-conditioning and heating strategies the exergy loss coefficients of the equipments are primarily consistent except evaporator's and absorber's. The total exergy loss of the system is largely occupied by the exergy loss of the compressor and generator/condenser, which approximately account for 50 percentages. So the exergy loss of the compressor and generator/condenser should be reduced, in order to improve the exergy efficiency of the system.
