| With more than 100 years development, the internal combustion engine has become the most efficient power resource. On the one hand, it brings convenience to our life,on the other hand, it brings the serious pollution to city and does harm to human health. With the in-depth study on the engine emission, people have recognized that the emission of transient conditions is much higher than those under steady conditions. Moreover, the most operating condition of the engine is transient. So, reducing transient emission is very important to improve our living environment. Some countries have established transient testing cycles, such as EPA testing cycle method of the USA and ETC of the EU. It's obvious that the transient condition of engine has become the important research fields.The combustion process and emission of diesel engines are closely related to the fuel's property. The developed countries, such as the USA and Japan, have done the combined research of engine and petroleum to probe into the property of fuel which can satisfy the super-lower emission needs. Our country falls behind in this field comparing with foreign countries. Deficiency of the high-class fuels restricts the diesel engine development in a certain extent. This project researches the effects of fuel property on the combustion and emission of the diesel engine and to find out the relations between fuel property and transient emissions providing the theoretical reference for the fuel standard of our country.A measuring and controlling system to perform the experiments under CSIT (constant speed and increasing torque ) and CTIS( constant torque and increasing speed) transient conditions was developed using the conventional eddy current dynamometer and the electrical fuel supplying system, Meanwhile, the corresponding hardware was integrated and the control software was compiled . The hardware system consists of a electrical controlling unit and an actuator. ECU is comprised of MCS-80196KC single chip processor, and a computer. The actuator is made up of a step motor, and connecting rod system . The controlling software adopts functional supplementation and modularization construction which is convenient for debugging . The whole electronic controlling system has high precision.
