Because of tight electricity supply and relatively plentiful gas supply in summer, also the development of solar-air conditioning, as well as the energy conservation and environment protection requirement, the Li-Br absorption chillers need to be even widely used. Traditional Li-Br absorption chillers are made up of tube-shell heat exchangers, which are voluminous and metal consumptive. Cooling tower is usually necessary for the chiller because it utilizes the cooling water, thus made the small -size air conditioning system complicated. In this paper plate heat exchangers are introduced with air-cooling in the Li-Br absorption chillers, which is compact, metal saving, and low cost. In addition, cooling tower and correlative auxiliary facilities are not required for the air-cooling absorber.In this thesis, study on the performance of the absorber, which is the main component of Li-Br chiller, has been accomplished. The air-cooling offset fin in plate-fin heat exchanger is the research object and respective numerical simulation is performed in both airside and Li-Br solution side.
