Because of the characteristics of the interference in power system and the ports of power system automation equipments, ordinary EMI filter is not very effective suppressing against typical power system interference. To develop EMI filters applied to power automation equipments according to the above characteristics is very necessary.Firstly it analyzes the basic principles and characteristics parameters of EMI filters thoroughly. Especially, the insertion loss is discussed in detail. The method of computing the insertion loss is issued.Methods, steps and the principles must be followed applicable to the design of the EMI filter is discussed on the basis of analysis of the theory and characteristics parameters of EMI of power automation equipment. The typical interference in power system and the characteristics of the ports of power system automation equipments have been analyzed in detail. The new topology of the special EMI filter is issued. And the parameters are determined.Secondly .The frequency characteristics of the components and materials used in EMI filters which affects the performance of the filter directly has been studied. Materials and components that meet the design requirements have been selected.The design feasibility of the circuit issued above has been certified through the computation by the simulation software on the basis of theory design.Finally, the EMI filters apply to power automation equipments are produced. The advantage especially the excellent attenuation characteristics in high frequency band and disadvantage of the filters are discussed through the compares in the experiments...
