With the development of economy and society, power consumed has increased quickly. The kinds of electrical equipments grows more and more, which characteristics are various, lead to various electrical quality questions. Especially, the inductive load and impactive load of electrical equipments bring much Var and harmoniousness to the power system. They lead to low power factor, vast harmonious component and lead to other electrical equipment deviant work. Therefore, compensating Var and harmoniousness in power system becomes the attentional issue more and more.First of all, compensating Var and harmoniousness at user end is more active field because of this compensating way's good efficiency. Compensating devices have developed from Synchronous Adjustive Phasic Device, Static Var Compensator to Advanced Static Var Generator nowadays. Today, Trinomial Three Lines pattern Static Var Generator is grown up. But the anisomerous problem becomes more and more serious. So compensating of nought line current is very important, that needs the Trinomial Four Lines pattern static Var Generator. The applied theory was brought forward two or three tens years ago, but domestic Trinomial Four Lines pattern Static Var Generator has not matured yet.This paper is going to manufacture a suit of Trinomial Four Lines pattern Static Generator. Firstly, this paper discusses universality and crisis of power quality problem and analyzes important significance of Var compensating and harmonious restrain which stand out in power system yet; Secondly, this paper simply summarizes developmental course, actuality and uptrend of Var compensatory equipments; Thirdly, this paper introduces academic base used in this equipment ,mainly are instantaneous Var power theory and Special Vector Method for generating pulse used springing IGBT; Finally, this paper introduces developed hardware and software for this device and its emulational wave based PSCAD and examination, debugging. At emulation tache ,it achieves Var compensation of eighteen various situation by using the PSCAD emulational software. Emulational waves display definite function to harmonious restrain which generated by rectifier load. Hardware includes three parts, one is operation and control part, one is signal adjuster part, one is IGBT driving part. The operation and control part adopts the combined mode of TMS320LF2407 and LPC2104.
