The torsion effect is an important factor that causes the seismic damage of structures, so it has always being an important problem in seismic research field all through. But the translation-and-torsion coupling vibration of structure is a three dimensional problem, and use of time series to identifying the discrete signals of structure test. Modal parameter identification of vibrating systems is one of the most important subjects in structural dynamics. Modal identification has significant roles at many aspects such as fault diagnosis, vibration and noise reduction, structural design, and state monitoring the traditional identification methods have many limitations because that both the excitations and responses of systems are required to analyze the modal parameters. With the development of the identification technique, the methods, which only use the response signals of systems for identifying the modal parameters, are increasingly paid attention to and used widely. Among them, time series analysis is a kind of fairly efficient method, in which the modal parameters of structures are obtained by modeling parameter models of the response signals to be analyzed.The main contents of the thesis are summarized as the follows:1. The development condition of modal parameter identification of vibrating systems is stated and both the advantages and disadvantages of different modeling approach methods are generalized. The basic concepts such as modeling approach, model parameter estimate,modal parameter estimate and MATLAB programming language involved in this method are simply introduced.2. The basic idea and some kinds of the common time series models and the development characteristics of time series are explained in detail. The identification of model type and the estimation of model parameters are investigated as well as the order determination of model. How to apply time series analysis in structural modal identification according to the relations between model and system and how to identification are also explained.3. Light-gauge steel structure, as the research background of this paper, is a new type of light steel structure which has been adopted abroad widely as a kind of architecture form and just has been developed later in our country these years.
