Following with the development of power electronics technology, the kind of material having larger compression strength and smaller loss, and control technology, high-speed motors are applied in all area such as machine industry and national defense industry. On account of lower cost, simple structure and advanced control technology, induction motor is the main choice as high-speed motor. At present,the technology for design of high-speed motors is not perfect , many problem for design and techniques are not solved , the interrelated investigations are carried out in all advanced industry country.As compared with traditional induction motor, the operational condition channel greatly due to adopting mid-frequency inverter for power supply. This makes the design of motor high in free degree and high in difficulty. Directing against this peculiarity, this paper begins with the design of high-speed induction motor, the specialty of its structure and electromagnet is analyzed in details. Based on the design method of traditional induction motor, put forward the systematic design method of high-speed introduction motor.At the foundation of design and analysis on high-speed introduction motor, in terms of the T-type equivalent circuit of induction motors, the principle of main parameters with the change of source frequency is given, and the operation property of motors by changing frequency is also studied.Because the variable frequency and adjustable speed systems are commonly used in the situations which need frequent starting-up and speed adjustment, the inverter-driven induction motor is required to work under different power points. The parameters, such as efficiency, power factor, loses and so on, are different under different power points. According to above reasons, the paper discusses a new characteristics calculation method for the introduction motor with good accuracy, in which a developed T-type of equivalent circuit and magnetic calculation method is provided. The analyses and research of inverter-driven high-speed induction motor are carried through under different power points and supplies.
