With the further demand on reliability of power system operation, it is more meaningful to enhance the study of power system transient stability. This paper summarizes the development of parallel arithmetic, parallel simulation system and development of parallel computer. Discusses the electromechanical transient parallel simulation arithmetic based on PC cluster and the decomposition of parallel tasks based on Diakoptics. According to the structure of electric-net and the model of electromechanical transient simulation, the system is divided into two parts, as generator and electric-net. The differential equations and algebraic equations, which describe generator and electric-net respectively, are placed into two PC groups. The differential equation and algebraic equation are calculated separately so as to use proper methods based their own characteristics. According to the operating characteristics of electric-net, the corresponding variable of the network parts are the load flow value of generator nodes, while the generator parts choose the injecting current and branch equivalent conductance. Above this foundation, an equivalent model of generators and networks used in the parallel simulation computation are proposed. The simulation model of generators bases on the implicit trapezoid numeric integral and its power angle is decided by the before-time system's variable, excitation voltage and the power of primer generator, and has no relation with current net variable. Compared with the existing generator's equivalent model that is also using the implicit integral algorithm, it eliminates the nonlinearity and calculation error caused by Park transformation. In order to reduce the computation, the network computation model chooses the block Diakoptics arithmetic, which just needs to modify the conduction of node and the inject current.TCP/IP is chosen to be the protocol used in PC cluster communication. According to the distributional characteristics of power system, the parallel program design based on the message transmission is used to realize the parallel simulation algorithm. The clients' data is received after all the clients' connection requests being confirmed, and then the synchronization is realized.
