Research On FBG Sensors For Practical Infrastructures And Their Application In The Measurement Of Highway Road

Fiber grating is one of the most important invention at the end of twenties century. In recent years structure health monitoring provides the opportunity for the use of fiber grating sensing technology in civil engineering field. However, it is the crucial subject how to combine the perception characteristic of fiber grating with testing requirement of civil engineering monitoring for developing engineering sensor of stable capability and good durability and its application to large engineering, several engineering sensors and their practical use in the road surface structure are researched according to the temperature and strain sensing characteristic of fiber grating. The main research results are the following: Firstly, wavelength change influences testing veracity aimed at the usual fiber grating temperature sensor under the outside force, two kinds of fiber grating temperature sensors without outside force influence are developed and tested in performance, which include prototype packaging and enhanced sensitivity packaging. A good experiment result is detected and they could be used to the practical engineering.Secondly, a fiber grating pressure sensor which could detect and compensate temperate is studied, the pressure sensing characteristic including linearity, sensitivity, repeatability and the sensor's temperature sensing and temperature compensation are tested, the good experiment result are obtained and showed that the sensor could satisfy the requirement of practical testing.Thirdly, a three-dimensional and good durability FRP packaging fiber grating strain sensors applied for the road surface structure is developed and the reasonable layout technique is proposed for the e sensor use in engineering. The sensor has the obvious advantages in durability and stability relative to the traditional electrics strain sensor.Finally, the fiber grating strain sensors which have good durability and packaged with FRP are used to test the road surface structure strain under the dead-load and dynamic load in the old road rebuilding project of Shandong province expressway, the speed, the weight and the action location of cars to each structure level are compared, experiment result show that two sensors have stable...
