Bend flow is a common phenomenon of water movement in channels and river course. Bend flow momentum characteristics is mainly concentrated in the surface sloop, cross circulation and the velocity re-distribution. Water flows through bend do a curve driving campaigns and the surface patterns and flow structures become adjusting and changing. Bend flow characteristics determine the basic laws of river sand movement and the evolution of the bed. It has important influence on river evolution, bank protection, and river course improvement. The spiral flow, which links to bend flow, will follow a series of engineering and environmental issues, and therefore need to build protection engineering. Currently, the main protection buildings are spur-dike, diversion board, diversion screen and diversion hum, diversion barriers. The spur-dike is a traditional bend protection, and it has the broader application. This issue studies on the spur-dike impacts on hydraulic characteristics of bend flow.The spur-dike is a common important building which is usually used in river course improvement projects, controlling river trend, bend protection, beam attack sand and high water levels. After spur-dike's construction, the flow has been reduced, minimum flood suddenly enlarged, and separated by a strip of water flow areas. Particularly for protection engineering and sand dunes of silt, the project results and costs can make full use of the district of behind the spur-dike. And surface transportation construction in the river training, riverside, guns reclamation works to flow inevitably encounter spur-dike role and impact on the evolution of the river and the beaches. Therefore, the current research on spur-dike has universal practical significance.The spur-dike current campaign involved many physic problems and it's border conditions usually complex and changeable. The majority of the research is theoretical in existing guidance to conduct information as a basis for the establishment of physical or numerical models and make model testing. But because measurement techniques restrictions, the buildings surrounding water-flow attitude research has not become a complete theory.
