| The internal force of pile caps are calculated based on the flexure theory of beam and slab in many domestic and foreign codes. The design methods of beam and slab are applied manually in checking carrying capacity of shearing, punching and bearing of pile caps.With the research for pile caps, the shortage of traditional design methods for thick pile caps is known worldwide, thus many new transfer mechanism model are advised. The space truss model is a typical achievement.Firstly, the research achievement and tendency in this field are reviewed in this paper; the difference among the design methods in different design code is compared and the problems to be resolved are revealed. Aim at these problems, pile caps are analytically researched, and the space truss model theories are summarized comprehensively. By the FEM analysis and the collected data of experiment of pile caps, the main influencing factor, such as concrete strength, the percentage of reinforcement, the reinforcement detailing and the ratio of span to thickness etc. are discussed; the transfer mechanism, the method to calculate and the design methods of pile caps are described in this paper.Finally, according to the analytical results of pile caps in this paper, some advice about design methods of pile caps is put forward. |
