With continual investment of the steel structures in the actual projects, the circle tubular steel members are widely used for their reasonableness of material utilization, good performance on the stiffness and torsion strength. The steel tubular steel members are found not only in spatial structures but also in tall buildings for columns.Because many areas in our country are required to be seismic fortified, the researches on the aseismatic behavior of circular tubular steel members used as columns have very important significance of the technic and economy. Although there are a lot of research references about the hysteretic behavior of steel members, the researches about hysteresis characteristics of circle tubular steel columns are few. The current research can not satisfy the requirement of aseismatic analysis in the projects.Although the experiment is necessary for the research of the hysteretic behavior of steel members, there are some actual limitations in experimental investigation and the cost of the experiment will be much expensive. With rapid development of finite element method and computer technics, the finite element analysis becomes the important way of saving the cost of experiments and analyzing the Hysteretic behavior of the steel members in the complicated situation.Based on the requirement of the aseismatic analysis of steel high-rise structures in Ping An Finance Mansion, the numerical analysis of the hysteretic behavior of hollow circle tubular steel columns under cyclic loading is conducted in this paper through the finite element method. The reasonable load-unload method, which satisfies the hysteretic theory of the circle tubular steel columns, is selected after comparing the research results of domestic and abroad. A series of hysteretic curves corresponding to different slenderness ratios, different axial compression ratios and different diameter-to-thickness ratios are obtained by mumerical computation. Through analyzing the curves, the influence of the slenderness ratios, axial compression ratios and diameter-to-thickness ratios on the hysteretic behavior of the...
