The development of underground space play a more and more important role in the development of cities as well as societies with the acceleration of urbanization in the 21st century. The DOT shield tunnel will become more and more popular because of its virtues such as saving underground space, making the planning of the underground space more flexible and so on. However, the same as single-circle shield, DOT shield tunnel construction will also lead to surface settlement which will have negative influence on surrounding buildings.So confirming the characters and degree of soil surface settlement is quite an important role.Based on the characteristics of the DOT shield tunnel construction, the soil surface settlement was studied using the method of the displacement overlapping. The relationship between the soil surface settlement and the tunnel depth, the tunnel diameter and the gap parameter was also derived. It is shown that the soil surface settlement curve of DOT shield tunnel is similar with that of circle tunnel; the soil surface settlement and the width of the settlement trough of DOT shield tunnel are larger than those of circle tunnel, and the soil surface settlement of DOT shield tunnel is related to the ratio of the depth to diameter of tunnel.
