At the beginning of 21st century, it's the very important period to reinforce their navy for every country. There are long coastlines and big territorial waters in our country, so it has important military value to develop the sea warfare modernize arms, especially super-speed torpedo.The water ramjet based on the reaction of water and fuel is a new kind of underwater engine. It just takes metal fuel, and utilizes the energy and gas, which comes from the reaction of water and metal fuel, to realize high-velocity movement. There's no need to take specific oxidant, so it can improve the high energy density of the power system.Design of the atomizer is one of the key technologies of water ramjet. It has directly influence to combustion and performance of the engine. So the design of the atomizer becomes the important part of power system. In this paper, the atomizers of water ramjet were studied. According to the burning condition of water ramjet and classical maximum flux principle theory of Abramovich, who's a scientist of Soviet Russia, a group of atomizers were designed and manufactured. In consideration of there being no exact relationships between nozzle dimensions and atomization quality and atomizer design mainly determined by experiment, we had an experiment to determined various atomization index of atomizers. Through doing this experiment and analyze the result, we understand the influence of atomizer dimensions and on atomization performance directly, which provides some valid basis to final nozzle design.
