Earthquake is one of the worst natural disasters. A lot of earthquake damages of modern building structures and tremendous economic loss have fully proved the importance of developing a systemic procedure to evaluate the earthquake resistant behavior of existing structures.As the economic development and population growth, people find that there have some deficiencies in traditional method for seismic design, because it neglect the economic loss of structural member under Low Intensity earthquakes.Based on that, American scholars provided the conception about Performance-based Seismic Evaluation Method for RC Frame Structures 1990s'.Based on the seismic evaluation methods provided by "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings (GB 50011-2001)", author employed modal analysis method, time-history analysis method and nonlinear static procedure (Push-over anylysis) to evaluated the seismic behavior of three existing RC frame structures of different structure types(regular, irregular and eccentric respectively). According to the result, this paper discussed something important, and made some improvement. Generally speaking, what this paper has done are as following:1). Summarized the current research situation both at home and abroad, pointed out the existing problems and what this paper wanted to solve;2). Using elastic analysis methods such as modal analysis respons spectrum method and linear time-history analysis method, this paper evaluated the seismic behavior of the three existing structures under Low Intensity earthquakes, discussed how to establish the structure anylisis model, and compared the results of different methods;3). Using dynamic elastoplastic time-history analysis method, this paper evaluated the seismic behavior of the three existing structures under rare earthquakes. How can some factors, such as choosing earthquake waves, establishing and solving structure dynamic equations, and data processing, influence on evaluating results, was discussed;4). Using Pushover analysis method, this paper evaluated the seismic behavior of the three existing structures, discussed something that were still on researching stage. Analysed how can structure type, torsional effect of irregular structure, high-model, horizontal force distribution and objective displacement, influence on the result of Pushover analysis, and improved something of them. Finally, compared the result of Pushover analysis with the result of static elastic analysis and time history analysis, and it was found that they were identical with each other in the main, which means that this analysis method is reliable and can be used in future practical projects.
