The research of this paper relates to the fault-line selection arithmetic and the fault-line selection instrument according to the development of single-phase-to-earth fault on non-direct-ground system . With improving on the formerly fault-line selection arithmetic, a novel transient arithmetic base on mathematical morphology and the rule of integrative fault-line selection methods are presented in this paper. The result of MATLAB simulation confirms the availability of the methods. It solves the shortage of the single criterion and has strong disturbances-proof ability. This paper presents a new hardware system of the fault-line selection instrument based on double CPU according to the development electronic technology. A particular hardware architecture and its operating results are introduced in the context. The operation results show that this soft-hardware platform has a fast calculation speed, a high performance-price ratio and a good running record. The device is approved to be of high practical value.
