The honeycomb sandwich constructions are widely applied in aeronautic and aerospace structures due to their many advantages such as high strength to weight, high stiffness to weight, soundproof and heat preservation etc. But they are rarely applied in civil engineering constructions. The main reason lie in the both two sides: on one thing, they are rarely studied in the field of civil engineering; on the other, their expensive price also limit the usage if used as normal thoughts.However, the scholars of RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF SPACE STRUCTUES& FORM OF SOUTHEAST UNIVERSITY launch it will form an efficient system of metals- honeycomb space structure if applying the metals-honeycomb panel to sheet spatial structure system on the foundations of their many years studying of sheet spatial structure system. For this, in this text, there are three aspects listed as following.First, the writer tallies up the form and the mechanical property of current familiar metal honeycomb sandwich panels, the writer also goes deep into studying the classic theories of the flexibility parameter of positive six honeycombs, of which on the foundation the writer deduce the flexibility parameters of isosceles triangle honeycombs combining with energy method and principle of superposition, and still uses finite element method validating it, furthermore the writer put forward the conjunction form of the honeycomb plank slice.Secondly, according to the characteristics of honeycomb plank combining with Reinssner Theory, the author puts forward to some more logical hypothesis, and educes dominative differential equation and deflection formula of the simple-supporting plank under uniformly distributed lateral load. Compared with Reinssner Theory, Hoff Theory and the results of finite element analysis, it shows the correction and necessity of this paper.Finally, through the instance of engineering, we can see that the steel dosage in steel honeycomb plank is smaller and the self-weight of the whole structure is lighter comparing with pyramided grid structure, and the steel dosage in portal strut with honeycomb laminated beam-column system is still smaller and the self-weight is still smaller comparing with steel I-beam,they will have a wide applied foreground.
