With the continuing escalation of the scale of urban construction, the ground space has become increasingly saturated. People began to develop and utilize the underground space for urban.The Primary task in the development of underground space is the foundation pit engineering and high demand for construction technology along with the continuous deepening of the development of underground space. Especially, in complex geological conditions and hydrological environment, Scholars and Technician in Geotechnical Engineering had made great efforts on the problem of foundation pit economically and reasonably. Many new researches have been achieved, a wealthy of experience is accumulated and new technologies, new methods, more and more new technology will continue to emerge. In the paper, the technology of foundation Pit Support is explained and the application of SMW technology is analyzes, which are introduced to deal with soft soil first time in Tianjin.Improve soft soil properties by soil-cement mixed pile, which can play sealing function; inserting structural steel in the soil-cement mixed pile in order to enforce shear strength of cement walls, retaining its functions; the recovery of structural steel after support can cut down the cost of foundation pit engineering.The successful implementation of the design and construction of this project shows that the structure method in soft soil excavation project is feasible; account the cost of SMW technology, simplex pile support, soil-cement mixed pile for water-stop curtain and so on, structure method is more simple, workable and a shorter period, lower cost and environmental pollution and other obvious advantages, So SMW technology in Tianjin and the majority of soft soil excavation projects has a bright prospects.
