The coupling of electromagnetic wave with wire structures and electromagnetic (EM) scattering from rough surfaces such as ocean-like surfaces had been extensively treated in recent years. These problems have very important influence to the modern battles and national defence. On the coupling of electromagnetic wave with wire structures problems, transmission line method is used to calculate the induced currents on an aerial cable. Take the influence of the earth into account in this study. Responses of the induced currents on aerial cable with different conditions are given in numeric examples. a unified formulation to determine the terminal currents of an arbitrarily bended cable excited by a plane wave at any polarization angle is presented. Both the influence of the earth and the curve of cable on the terminal currents are considered in this paper. The method given in this paper is of great significance to the reinforcement of the electronic systems and EMC research. On the electromagnetic (EM) scattering from rough surfaces problems, the scattering characteristics of 2-D ship targets on ocean-like rough surfaces illuminating by plane wave are analyzed with the method of moment (MOM). In previous related papers, free space Green's function was used to establish integral equations, and tapered plane wave was applied to minimize the endpoint effect. However, the authors in this paper use dielectric half space Green's function instead of free space Green's function to establish the integral equations. For the incident field, we use plane wave instead of tapered plane wave. The analysis and numerical results show that the method presented in this paper is more suitable for computing the electromagnetic scattering from two-dimensional targets on ocean-like rough surface.
