With the joint efforts of structure and aerodynamics engineers since almost half of century, it has formed structure wind engineering, which studies wind-induced structure vibration. Time domain analysis method is the major method analyzing wind-induced structure vibration, but the method needs a series of samples of wind velocity or wind pressure time history. Therefore, time domain model simulating wind field is the important content.Firstly, power density spectrum (PSD) important in stochastic process is studied. Relation of one-sided and two-sided PSD is discussed and improved according to physical meaning of PSD. Based upon the work above, the modification to the transformation of Winner-Khinchine formula is presented. AR model is more systemic studied for the sake of finding its clue simulating wind field which maybe applied to wavelet analysis (WA) method. It can be classified into such two kinds of AR models as scalar and vector process, applied into wind field simulation widely. AR model of vector process doesn't consider time-lag when simulating spatial correlation wind field. Relatively, the theory of AR model of vector process simulating wind field is better, which is also verified by numerical trial, but with more time consuming.Based on the concept of vanishing moments of wavelet function, WA model simulating fluctuating wind velocity history can be established. Fast algorithm of WA model simulating fluctuating wind velocity history is deduced, as well as auto-correlation estimate and PSD estimate expressions. Simulation sample of one point fluctuating wind history verifies the feasibility and highly accuracy for WA model to simulate fluctuating wind velocity history. The thought with which AR model of vector process simulate wind field can be referred for MA model. The computation efficiency of the matrix representing spatial correlation can be improved by modified numerical integral. The wind field samples produced by WA model have more highly accuracy with less loss of simulation efficiency. Therefore, the WA model can be applied into wind field simulation as an effective method.Anti-wind study for large tank is weak although large oil storage tank engineering has been important part of state strategic petroleum reserve plan. Based on research results of wind field simulation, wind-induced buckling of large tank is studied preliminarily by finite element method (FEM). Numerical results shows that tank under wind load can be analyzed as linear structure.
