Research On The Interaction Of Soil Nail, Concrete Face And Soil

The soil nailing support system has been widely used for deep excavation because of its unique advantages, compared to other structures, this kind of retaining structure is easier, safer and However, there are quite many disputes at different analytical methods to soil nailing. In this thesis the advanced finite element method (FEM) software ABAQUS is applied to analyze the behavior of soil nailing. Associating with theory analysis and dates from real project, the FEM is proved to be effective and could be used for further applications.In this thesis, the vertical displacement, horizontal displacement of unstable slope and the tension force of nail were calculated and analyzed in each excavated-reinforced step, in order to assign the working principle of soil nailing retaining structure. Associating with real factors, the force transferring mechanism is analyzed and the formulas of tension and stress along the soilnail are given. The influence factors of soil and soil nail such as σ|-, R_α, R_f , E_α , E_f wereconsidered comparing with the results from FEM.On the basis of traditional active soil pressure method and engineering experience, a new modle of the laternal earth pressure at soil nailing structure is addressed and used for the analysis of the concrete facing.At the end of this paper, some suggestions about the optimization of the soil nailing design arc given out by changing the inclination and collocation of soil nailing, using FEM.Practice has proved that soil nailing support system is a kind of economical, convenient, practical technique which is suitable for different geologic donditions.
