Feature recognition and 3D reconstruction of engineering drawing are the intersectant subject of Computer Graphics and Computer Aided Design. This dissertation starts the work with the research and analysis of engineering semantics, extracts the deep information of engineering drawing, and combines feature recognition with 3D reconstruction of engineering drawing.First, the research and relative subject on engineering drawing feature recognition and 3D reconstruction is summarized. The way of work is put forward.Second, on the basis of analysis of engineering drawing and discussion of engineering semantics, engineering semantics divides into the expression mode semantics, the projection relation semantics and the dimension constraint semantics. According to the model, the dissertation analyzes all the engineering semantics.In this dissertation the feature model is introduced. Symbolic feature, geometric feature and machining feature are got from engineering drawing.The symbolic feature of engineering drawing is discussed. The method of pattern recognition is discussed. Based on the characteristics of symbolic features, the dissertation recognizes the features from engineering drawing with improved pattern recognition method.This dissertation discusses the method of feature recognition and 3D reconstruction which based on engineering semantics. Then the common geometric feature of engineering drawing on different levels of priority is analyzed. The application of engineering semantics is discussed as follows: leading to separating view, leading to creating dimension tree, leading to recognizing gear, spline, thread, cylinder and plane. Symbolic features combined with pattern recognition methods are used to identify the initial machining features.Finally, with the development of feature recognition and reconstruction ideas, reconstruction objects and research on engineering semantics are summarized and the future research work is put forward.
