| Rock bolting is the most effective and also the most economical means of supporting excavations in rock. It has showed more and more vitality in the area of reinforcement in the geotechnical engineering for its unique effect, simple and convenient technology, far-lung application and economical cost in recent years. At present time, it has not only been used in the mine but in the areas of metallurgy, water conservancy and hydroelectric power, railway and highway , civil construction and so on and has good foreground of application. However, the mechanical behavior of the bolted rock joint is not fully understood, and only the experience accumulated on rock bolting gives the know-how for the reinforcement calculation and execution. Various types of bolts are used today, and an understanding of the way in which these bolts work is essential for an optimal, safe, and economical use.On the basis of a great number of studies performed by former researchers, the work finished in this paper focuses on several aspects of the following throng experimental test coupled with numerical simulations.(1) We choose several types of ideal similar material those can respectively simulate rock mass, cementing material and bolts. By investigating similar material research status and performing some relative tests, we finally determine the similar material the experiment needs and also find the optimal proportions.(2) Some specimens were made through different anchorage styles which mean different anchorage density, different anchorage angles and different places to the crack. During this progress, the prefabrication of the crack and the holes for bolts, together with the craftwork of slip-casting and bolt-installation is very important for the final results.(3)Through the laboratory similar test, the anchoring effect and the failure styles of these specimens made by different anchorage styles were studied under uniaxial compression. By comparing theirσ-εcurves, some conclusions were summarized quantitatively and qualitatively.(4)Some numerical models anchored by these different styles were simulated using the numerical program RFPA2D .By comparing and analyzing their difference, some quantificational and qualitative laws. (5)Combining the results both from the test and numerical simulation, we get some valuable conclusions, and we also give some advice about bolt anchoring in engineering. |
