The traditional coating-insulating materials have some problems such as easily cracking when using on large area, more longer setting and drying time of coating layer, higher cost, damage of asbestos in raw materials to health etc., which limits the wide application of traditional coating-insulating materials in civil engineering.Based on the analyses of traditional coating-insulating materials, a new type of high efficiency coating-insulating material was developed, which aimed at solving the disadvantages existed in traditional coatinginsulating materials, so meeting the needs of construction development. In the newly developed material, old-waste EPS was used as aggregate, in the meantime, a industrial waste used as easily dispersing weight-light filler. It not only achieved the recycling of waste materials and lowered the white pollution, but also reduced the cost. In process of choosing fibre materials, organic short fibre and inorganic environmental protective fibre were selected to replace asbestos fibre. In the paper, the author innovated to use gluey powder, composite binding materials and chemical admixture for improving the performances of sticking and cracking-resistance. On the basis of these studies, a new coating-insulating material was developed, which has good sticking performance, low coefficient of conducting heat, good burning-resistance and water-resistance.Based on the analyses of problems exited in application of silicate compound plaster in civil engineering, the single factor analysis of new coating-insulating material, and the optimum design of mixture proportion were carried out. The mechanisms of insulation, cracking-resistance and adjusting setting time were analyzed. At the same time, the production technique, testing technique and application technique in building change used passive sun energy and on a part of heater were also conducted.Through the above investigations, it was seen that the new coating-insulating material was a green good insulating material with an excellent effect in energy-saving of building. Under large situations initiated building saving-society, it has more large modern meaning and vast market propect.
