Magnetorheological Fluid Damper is a kind of the intellectualized absorbers rising in recent years. It adopts the Magnetorheological Fluid, a new type of functional material belonging to the controllable fluid, as the damping medium. As it has many merits such as simple structure, the extensive range in control stress, fast responding speed, no aging and fatigue and low consuming power, it is the inevitable trend to replace the conventional absorbers.This paper designs the structure of the MRF dampers and manufactures a set of estimating equipment used to test the absorbing effect on the MRF dampers and studies the vibration-controlling effect in building structure by the PID control methods, mainly including the contents as follows.(1) Study the relations among the damping force on MRF, the rotary velocity of the electromotor and the outside magnetic field. Using the non-Newton glutinositical flowing mode and the Bingham mode,build up the uniform expression on the damping force when the MRF flow though the parallel flat, at the same time ,confirm the design parameter.(2) Scheme out the tester to validate the shock-absorption effect. Based on similarity theory, build up the experiment model equivalent to the building structure, study its dynamic characteristic on mode analyzing and get the vibration picture and the model parameter.(3) Design a set of control system testing the absorbing effect on MRF dampers, gather the outside response signal by acceleration sensor, with the PID control methods and the data acquisition card, control the movement velocity and the direction of the electromotor. It can be used to estimate the absorbing effect of the building structure on all kinds of the outside powers.(4)Study the absorbing effect on MRF dampers by experimentation, considering the movement velocity of the piston and the outside magnetic field,the swing of the response of the model equipment cuts down distinctly when fixing the MRF dampers ,and validate the favorable absorbing effect of the MRF according to the statistics of the relative branch .
