The damage localization methods for complex grid structures have been studied in this paper. Comparing static damage localization method with dynamic one, this paper takes a future study on the grid structure's damage identification using the static damage localization method. During the progress of this paper, some valuable discoveries were found out. Main contents and achievements are as follow:One, this paper address the mode curvature parameter method to solve damage localization of the large span reticulated dome structures. Taking a few reticulated dome structures, such as single-layer reticulated dome of Schwedler to verify the effectiveness and applicability of the method presented here.Two, this paper address the strain energy change method to solve damage localization of the large span latticed frame structures. Taking a few latticed frame structures as example to verify the effectiveness and applicability of the method presented in this paper. During the profound investigation we found many precious rules. And the most important thing is the damage localization accuracy is very high.Three, To the upper chord or lower chord in the latticed frame, this present a Promethean notion of"space center orthokinetic-orthogonal". Using the method mentioned in this paper and combining the notion presented here can make the damage identification accuracy reach 100%.
