The deficiency of petroleum resources and environmental pollution have been the two serious problems against the sustainable development of the automotive industry. Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) has been accepted world-widely as one of the most promising strategy to solve the two serious problems. The low oil consumption and the improved emission that HEV can achieve mainly give credit to the design and the control of the hybrid system: Using the reasonable system structure and the control algorithm optimizes work area, and realizes the regenerative braking function. The control strategy mainly studies how to distribute the torque between the engine and the motor, not only satisfies the demand of drive force, but also optimizes the efficiency of the engine, motor, battery and the vehicle. At present, the control strategy adopted only considers the efficiency of the engine, but ignores the efficiency of the motor and the vehicle. The adaptive control strategy can optimize the fuel economy and emission in real-time by incorporating the efficiency of the engine and the motor, and distribute the torque to the engine and the motor reasonably. It is a dynamic energy management strategy based on the optimized algorithm. This kind of control strategy can more manifest the characteristic of HEV's economization on energy and reduction on emission. However, adaptive control needs to collect a large number of engine operating data to calculate fuel consumption and fuel emissions, the optimization process is...
