The methods of calculating the first and second kind of stability problems are expatiated using the finite element method. The judgment criterion and method of stability and the simplification of material constitutive relation are illustrated for CFST arch bridge.It makes use of the parametric design language of the general finite element software ANSYS to model the construction process by ANSYS program. It takes Qingganhe CFST arch bridge of 256m span which has already set up as an example to analyze the CFST arch bridge stability of the construction process. First, the order of concrete which is filled in arch bridge is considered and the rational order of concrete which is filled in arch bridge is taken. Then, Three analysis cases are used to analyze the stability of the construction process. They are eigenvalue buckling analysis, nonlinear analysis which considers only geometric nonlinearity and which both geometric and material nonlinearities. The coefficient of stability of the three cases are listed and compared. The results suggest that the dual nonlinearity must be considered in analyzing stability of the construction process of CFST arch bridge.The effect of different factors such as the effect of different loads of traffic lane, the form of lateral brace, non-orientedly conservative loadings of the hanger and tie bar etc is discussed. The different coefficients of stability of changing these factors are given, so that the factors that are vital to the stability of arches are found.
