With the rapid development of science and technology as well as economy, the construction of long span bridges crossing rivers and straits in china has entered a new era. Collisions between ships and bridges that built in heavy navigation channels occurred frequently, which made bridges damage and collapse. Ship collision has become indispensable to the design of bridges crossing navigation channels. Recently, simulation technology has applied broadly in the research of ship-bridge collision. Based on the present state of research, design ship impact force and simulation of damage for bridge pier subjected to ship impact are studied in the present paper. The main contents are as following:A series of simulation of ship collision with rigid wall are carried out. several factors that influence ship impact force, such as mass and tonnage of ship, impact velocity, impact angle, shape and dimension of pile cap, are analyzed thoroughly. At the same time, simplified formulas of ship impact force are put forward.Through the dynamic response analysis of bridges with pile foundation under ship impact, comparison between the static result and the dynamic response of the key position of bridge are made. The rationality of equivalent static ship impact force are discussed, and some advices about the choice of design ship impact force are given to continuous rigid frame bridges and continuous girder bridges.A review is made for the research state of dynamic constitutive mode of concrete, based on the comprehensive reading and understanding of related literature home and abroad. Comment and comparison are made for several dynamic constitutive models of concrete which have applied successfully in the simulation of impact, penetration and blast. Sensitivity of relevant parameters in HJC model are discussed through a collision of a rigid ball with a concrete plate.Scenarios of a 12000 DWT bulk cargo collision with thin-wall bridge pier, pile cap and pile foundation are simulated by the software of LS-DYNA, and the time history of ship impact force, the time history of displacement at the top of bridge pier and the damage of the bridge pier are presented. The results show that the damage of...
