With the rapid development of civil engineering construction, Dynamic Consolidation is used rapidly. But the design of Dynamic Consolidation is mainly depended on experience. There is no strict theory on Dynamic Consolidation. Many experts have researched on Dynamic Consolidation, but most theory can't be used on specific project.Present status on impact load on soil, consensus on acting time of hammer, depth of pit, shape of puddle, and constitutive equation of impact load are summarized. On the basis, analyzed the following aspect of Dynamic Consolidation:1. Depend on theory of stress wave, considering shape of puddle as semi-infinite extent cylinder, taking account of friction force on side face and weight, adopting bilinear constitutive equation, the wave equation of soil being hammered is deduced. The equation is solved using characteristic method, then the variation of force on the touching surface of hammer and soil, the stress, strain, speed of soil at arbitrary depth, arbitrary time is also adopted. Otherwise, method of separation of variables is experimented, and the result is not idealization.2. Theory of penetration is used to analysis Dynamic Consolidation. Assuming that the plunger is cylinder and truncated cone respectively, equation of motion of plunger and hammer is deduced. The equation is solved using Matlab program, and is examined with an example. By analyzing the results, we can see that penetration is practical to analyze Dynamic Consolidation.
