Boiler's hot tests are the most important experiments for a thermal power plant. They are of importance for operators to know a boiler's operating characteristic accurately and duly; to keep the fuel burning high-efficiently and cleanly; to ensure the security of boiler and operators.The task of a boiler's hot test is to test operation performance in order to find the cause of faults; more, to put forward the measure to improve on the equipments and optimize operating mode. In the dissertation, according to national standard and the orthogonal design method in electric industry, the principles and methods of the orthogonal design method on Boilers with tangential firing burner are summarized in all aspects. several key steps of orthogonal design are introduced, for example, factor decision, level choice and orthogonal array choice. The hot tests and adjustments of HG-220/100 boilers in Yangtse power plant are carried out; The cause of boilers'bad combustion is found out. The boilers'operation mode is optimized. After all, a satisfactory effect and many experiences are acquired. The optimum operation mode of typical load is submitted.Meanwhile, the effect of the fire and storage system of pulverized coal and its operation mode on boiler parameters is studied. And, the mechanism is discussed. The tests have certain directive significances for both economical operation of firing system and reduction of power consumption of the plant itself.The paper makes a systematic analysis and research for the boiler using low-grade coal in the electric power plant. On the basis of the research and experiment, through the theoretical calculation and analysis, this paper puts forward to the synthetic measures in technology to improve the adaptation to changes of coal for the boiler using low-grade coal.
