In this paper, the foundation pit protection project of the archives and the park of Nanjing Land Bureau is used as the background of researching. The complicated engineering condition is sufficiently considered in the optimal design and the preexisted protective stakes of the former Land Bureau building is sufficiently utilized. By these methods, the available underground space is augmented and the project cost is saved.As the bad structure of the Mosque bungalow at west of the foundation pit which clings the protective stake, this design adopts the deformation control theory. A row of root stakes which could be constructed outside the foundation pit and the construction technique should be strictly controlled to reduce the settlement of construction beside the foundation pit.The primary protective stakes in the southeast of foundation pit can't fill the stability demand according to Construction Ministry Regulations. This design is based on analyzing of many successful engineering experience and adopts the theory of slightly embedded upholding points of single branch structure in the《Foundation Criterion in Nanjing Area》to analyze and argue. Based on the rigorous monitoring, the construction is put up with information, so this method can assure the safety and reduce the cost.The primary protective stakes in the southwest of foundation pit are utilized to form a new kind complex structure of the braced double-row piles. This paper perfects the model of complex structure of the braced double-row piles based on the researching of existing literatures, and solutes the problem in term of planar rigid frame with no side displace combining this project.This foundation pit project is simulated with planar finite-element method using Beijing Lizheng Software. And the proportion coefficient value of foundation soil is back analyzed combining practical measured value.
