The worldwide developing status quo of the heavy-duty gas turbine combustor, the characteristics and principles of work about all kinds of combustors in the world and the development history and experience of the Dry Low NOx (DLN) combustion systems for GE heavy-duty gas turbines are introduced in detail in this paper. Then by using the numerical simulation of Primary operation and Lean-Lean operation modes of the Gas fuel DLN-1combustor, the performance of stability, security, economy and NOx emission reduction are carefully investigated.Some conclusions can be drawn from the analysis of the numerical simulation of operation modes of the Gas fuel DLN-1 combustor:The stability of the Primary operation mode the Gas fuel DLN-1combustor is very good, the surface temperature of the combustor has a partial hot phenomena. The emission of the thermal NOx is high, basically quite with standard combustor; but the run time of this operating mode is short.The stability of the Lean-Lean operation mode of the Gas fuel DLN-1 combustor is also very good, and the surface temperature of the combustor is even, the emission of the thermal NOx is decreases compare with primary operation mode. It conforms to the act.Through the comparison of the temperature field and the thermal NOx density field, we can obtain conclusion: the thermal NOx can not produce on the flame surface, but is in the flame catchment area.It is to understand the physics and chemical course taken place in the combustor, better to the purpose of carrying on the numerical simulation of combustor, to guide the selecting type of the combustor and improving combustor. This can serve as a valuable reference in gas turbine combustion system selecting in new power plant and technology supports for old gas power plant refinement. On the other hand, this work can also support the design and manufacturing technology of the gas turbine hot gas part compartment and making contributions to the technology development of the gas turbine industry.
