The cable-stayed bridge are among the most competitive types of modern long-span bridge. As more and more attention are paid to the architectural beauty of bridges and the span as well as the complexity of components section are enlarged, construction monitoring plays a significant role in guaranteeing the successful building of the cable-stayed bridge. The purpose of construction monitoring is to understand the structural capabilities in the construction process, especially those of the key components about inner force and deformation so that timely adaptation can be made. Consequently, construction monitoring is one of the most crucial steps in ensuring the safety in construction and quality of the bridge. Based on the project of Baoding Bridge in Tianjin city, research the problem of structure analysis and construction monitoring, in order to provide guide for the monitoring of the future bridge projects.In the thesis, the Finite Element models of the cable-stayed bridge are at first set up by ANSYS; the real loads applied are simulated and the structure analysis is performed on the models, in order to calculate the internal forces and deformations in every construction procedures. A dynamic analysis is then conducted on the bridge for its dynamic characteristics, including its natural frequencies and primary mode shapes. Through the analyses of the problems in the structure analysis and the construction monitoring of the cable-stayed bridge, the thesis provides the necessary guide for the installment locations of the cross-sections for the sensors and the locations for the testing spots. The subsequent steps are to deploy the equipments for testing, to monitor the whole construction procedure of the cable-stayed bridge by proper methods, and to conduct the dynamic characteristics testing on the built bridge. The results include the internal forces, deformations and the rules of the change of stresses in the critical cross-sections of the girders when they are exposed to the different load combinations in the construction procedure. The results also include the dynamic characteristics of the whole bridge. The thesis compares the results from the testing and the theoretical analyses, and proposes reasonable suggestions for both the design and construction processes. Then, get deformations, girder length and the internal forces by influence of the change of temperature, in order of provide guide for error analysis.Conclusion shows that it is feasible to utilize the calculation pattern to analyze the long-span cable-stayed bridge. Key problems of cable tension testing and concrete and steel stress measurement in the monitoring are successfully solved,construction controlling are successfully completed.
