Power system state estimation is an important function in the Energy Management System, which provides a reliable and integrated database for it. Because it is difficult to get the true value of network parameter whose error directly influences the result of state estimation, network parameter error makes EMS be practical impossible. So making network parameter error detection, identification and estimation practical has significant meaning.Firstly, the thesis analyses the relationship among EMS, state estimation and parameter estimation and introduces the basic theory, fundamental, common arithmetic of state estimation. Some problems about sate estimation are discussed in the thesis.Secondly, the thesis makes a series of research of parameter estimation. Network error is done with as the same way as parameter error by analyzing the characteristic of network error. The parameter error's existence is judged by calculating the performance of state estimation. And its position can be located by using the statistic of residuals. In the process of estimation the improved Newton way is introduced. It can not only speed up the convergence, but also resolve the problem of exhale introduced by the big distance between initial value and true value of parameter. Then the modified parameter can improve the result of state estimation.At last, the thesis carries out the arithmetic of parameter estimation which is as a module in the state estimation. According to the emulator's result, parameter estimation can minimize the parameter error's effort on state estimation and improve the precision of state estimation.
