The text based on the broad prospect intelligent structure. Research is on the newest and most challenging multidisciplinary subject, piezoelectric intelligent truss structure. Mechanics, material science and optimization are integrated in this dissertation. The main work done in this paper is as following:1. Considered the affect of Mech-electric coupling, Present the Mech-electric coupling FEM equations of intelligent structure with piezoelectric actuator were deduced. By calculating two examples, the affect of Mech-electric coupling to the static activity (position precision and structure precision) and dynamic activity were discussed.2. The actuator placements and control voltage were taken as design variables, and the weighted presentation of (position precision or structure precision), control energy and number of actuators is taken as the objective function in this model. New solution was proposed:(1) The actuator placements and control voltage was taken as design variables and built a generalized design variables. By bringing a NCP function, the discrete actuator placement variable was transformed to continuous variable and the two kinds of variables was considered in one design space, so the actuator placement and control voltage were optimized simultaneously.(2) The constraint of press stability was added and the structure was more stable.(3) Considered the constraint of frequency and the structure was more closed to the practice situation.The numerical examples were done by the upward method. Matlab was used for coding the FEM program and iSIGHT was used for optimization. The results were given to comparing with that from the newest research in intelligent truss structure. Advantage and disadvantages were compared and the influence by taken constraints of press stability or (and) frequency was discussed.
