| With the development of automobile industry in China, the volume of in use vehicles is increasing rapidly, so is the amount of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs). The improper disposal of ELVs will produce new environment problems involved in air and water pollution, contaminating and wasting precious farmlands. When it comes to circular economy, the waste may be taken as a new resource. If the ELVs are disposed of appropriately, there is a channel for offering spare automobile parts, metal materials and energy as well. Therefore, study on the key techniques of recovery of ELVs will not only dispose of the large amount of end-of-life vehicles, but also convert wastes into useful resources. Furthermore, it is a significant way of saving natural resources, protecting the environment and promoting the sustainable development. This paper focuses on the key techniques of recycling engines of end-of-life vehicles, begins with the remanufacturing of the key parts of the engines and educes the residual life assessment before crankshafts are remanufactured. The research in this paper goes around two aspects of issues. They are respectively the basis of fatigue damage theory and the study on reliability of remanufacturing key parts of engines, such as crankshafts, in the light of the residual fatigue life of materials. As for the first issue, this paper introduces the history of fatigue and the current situation of fatigue research, and then introduces some basic theories of fatigue analysis and estimation methods of fatigue life. Then it introduces the basis of damage theories and some studies on accumulative damage laws and finally summarizes various types of theories. As for the second issue, the crankshaft is taken as the research... |
