With both challenges of energy sources shortage and environment pollution, new clean energy concept vehicle should be researched. The hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is regarded as the most practical solution for clean vehicles at present.Three typical HEV configurations are analyzed in the thesis. According to the characteristics of a mild hybrid, the scheme of control modes based on a layered structure is brought forward. Driving mode identification, energy management and torque distribution strategy are performed sequentially by the vehicle control system according to driving operation and vehicle states. By the means of increasing the engine efficiency, reducing engine idle and equipping regenerative braking, SH750 Hybrid improves its energy consumption much. Through start, idle, load driving mode experiments, functions of the vehicle controller and strategy have been test, and validity of the strategy has been verified. Fuel economics of the NEDC driving cycle can reach 7.8 L/l00km and SOC increase 9 % meanwhile. It shows fuel economics of SH750 is much improved with hybrid vehicle control system.
