Due to their high strength to weight ratio, high stiffness to weight ratio and some other excellence traits, composite laminate structure is widely used in the field of aerospace. So the research of the analysis and optimization design of the composite laminate structure has an important value. This paper presents a new design method for the optimization of composite laminate structureAt first, the human immune system is introduced, and based on it, an intelligence optimization algorithm, artificial immune algorithm, is developed. The example results validated that the artificial immune algorithm is efficiency in the numeric optimization and engineering appliance.Then the Artificial immune algorithm is improved for solveing the problem of stacking sequence optimization of composite laminate structure.By the optimization design of some simply rectangular composite laminate structure plates the feasibility the artificial immune algorithm is validated.For widely using the artificial immune algorithm on the optimization design of composite laminate structure, the software MSC.Nastran is combined with the algorithm, which is used for the finite element analysis calculate of the composite laminated structure. A system of the optimization design of composite laminate structure which is based on the combining the artificial immune algorithm with MSC.Nastran is developed. Validated by an example, This system is feasibility and convenient for the optimization design of the complicated omposite laminated structure.But the drawbacks of the system are that the operation speed is slow and it is time consuming. So in order to improve the optimization system, the approximation simulation is used in the process of the finite element analysis and the response surface model is builded to instead of the operation process of the MSC.Nastran.
