During the 1994 Northridge earthquake and 1995 Kobe earthquake, as well as the troubles of the steel structures that appear in the process of construction, The typical beam-column moment connection in steel moment-resisting frame suffered unexpected brittle failures. many studies on the behavior of beam-column connections used in steel moment resisting frame and their effect on seismic behavior of steel frames have been carried out. The beam-column connection of the steel frame structure usually being used with the rigid connection design in which there is enough rigid in the connection of main beam-column. According to the conjunction method, the steel structure beam-column conjunction can be divided into: weld conjunction, the bolt connection node and bolt- weld connection.Firstly, in this thesis,by means of design point of view, the complete analysis and study had been done about the three kinds of main rigid connection design. Point out the problem which consist in the designs of beam-column connection of the steel frame structure .Put forward the correct design methods about beam-column connection.Secondly, it had been elaborated in detail the design thought of improving steel frame beam—column joints by making use of the dog-bone connection. A great deal of operation had been carried on by ANSYS procedure in order to contrast and analyze the function of undertaking various power .A conclusion had been draw out: when dog-bone connection had been adopted, if the size of beam edge being weaken adequately, the stress biggest value of beam-column connection under power will appear at the part which had been weaken on beam edge where there is a great deal of transform ability, deviating beam-column joints where the brittleness breakage had taken place most easily in lot of actual engineering. It is found that the design of reinforce-beam section dog-bone connection can transfer the yielding joint from flange welds to parent metal zone, which possesses better plasticity and avoid yielding joints in weak welds. This design also enables beam flanges to dissipate earthquake energy more effectuality and protects weak welds. Under loads, the energy-dissipating capacity of reinforce-beam section dog-bone connection is better than dog-bone connections.Finally, according to the conclusion drawn above, connection form which are economy and reasonable and fitting and some suggests about construction had been put forward in this thesis. |
