The application of wavelet analysis and artificial neural network on acoustic emission testing (AE) were reviewed and presented in this paper. In this paper, Acoustic Emission signal was used as access to study the conditon of the wood materials. By experiment, a large numbers of AE signal were acquired. According to the characteristics of AE, wavelet packet decompose was proposed to extract the information related to conditon of the wood materials from the data and served as characteristic parameters to be put into neural. In this paper, neural network was built to reflect the relationship between the conditon of the wood materials and AE signal, and finally, implement the recognition of the conditon of the wood materials.In this paper, a plane based on LabVIEW was built to carry out AE analysis and BP network recognition. The plane calls Matlab script to combine LavVIEW with Matlab,and makes recognition much simpler,more convenient and integrated. Meanwhile,the plane can also be used to test other materials.
