With the development of chemical industry, the pressure vessel is put into use broadly. The flange surface of pressure vessel is used to dock other equipment, the breakdown in the flange seal-face and seal-groove have direct impact to the pressure vessel of safe produce , so the sealing performance of the flange surface in every pressure vessel is must ensured over a long period of time .However, the pressure vessel usually worked in the environment of the high temperature , high pressure, and some medium have highly corrosive, the condition environment of the flange sealing groove is more bad , which causes the flange sealing groove to be extremely easy to crack. In order to suppress crack growing up, regular maintaining and repair of the pressure vessel is to be necessary very much. The pressure vessel is generally big cubage and heavy weight, so the conventional machine tool is unable to repair the sealing groove. The on-line repair of the pressure vessel is difficulty enormous. When off-line repair, the investment in manpower and material resource is too more, so the cost is high, the time of repairing and stopping production is long, the influence is so big on the industrial production.This paper deeply research on the structural feature and the damage rule and repair technology of the pressure vessel flange seal-face. Through the study on bottleneck problem of the online-repair technology of the pressure vessel, it discusses the scheme of the online-repair technology. It is designed a removable NC machine tool which is installed on the pressure vessel flange. Main motion system of the machine tool is hydraulic motor driving, and two feed motion system is step-motor driving. The main controller is PLC programmable logic controller in the control system. A position control module, which has linear interpolation and circular interpolation of two axises, process shaping of flange seal-face and seal- groove. In order to operate inconveniently, the portable handling box was designed to operate the machine tool in a distance. Man-computer Interface of the portable handling box was designed. The rotateing system brings the unbalance problem. Base on the organization equilibrium theories, it analysis on dynamic balance about the revolved system of the machine tool. Finally, the author carried out a summary to the research work of that text.This paper realized the on-line repair processing of the flange seals groove of the pressure vessel, has solved the bottleneck problem in using the pressure vessel.The research result brings enormous convenience for the on-line repair of the pressure vessel and manufacturing the new product. This technology has brought the direct economic benefit for the usage factory and the manufacturer of the pressure vessel, enhanced the enterprise in the market competitive ability, and developed the application field in the numerical control technology.
