The concrete-filled steel tubular column can possesses advantages over both pure steel and concrete material, and have the special properties, such as high-strength, good ductility, better seismic behavior, etc. It has been used more and more in high-rising structures recently. The performance of the column and beam connection is the key influenced factor on the whole structure. But the research on the connection between the concrete-filled square steel tubular column and reinforced concrete beam is not perfect.On the basis of present research on the connection between the concrete-filled square steel tubular column and reinforced concrete beam, contrapose the problems of the connection, a new type of connection that can be used to the concrete-filled square steel tubular column and reinforced concrete beam was proposed. In order to study the performance of the new connection, combined the experimental study, FEM simulation and theoretic analysis, the new type connection is carried out systems analysis and research. The main contents in this paper are as follows:Firstly, in order to improve the bond force between steel plate and concrete, different shape grooves are cut on steel plate. And the pull out test of steel plate with the different grooves is made to get the different bond force of steel plate with different grooves. According to the similar theory, one specimen with 3:1 scale of model of the practical project has been tested with the cyclic loading. The stress-strain principal of connection region, turss steel plates and the reinforced bar in the beam have been studied. Additionally, slippage curves between turss steel plates, the reinforced bars and concrete were plotted.Secondly, according to the practical material parameters and model dimensions, the loading carrying capacity of the column and the maximum ratio of axial compressive force to axial compressive ultimate capacity of section were calculated. The flexural carrying capacity of the beam end and the shear carrying capacity of the connection, and the crack are also described in the paper.Finally, nonlinear finite element method is used to analysis this connection with ANSYS program and studies the mechanical properties. Especially, the stress of the turss steel plate, the reinforced bar and the cracks in the beam are analyzed. and compared to the result of the experiment.The results indicated that the turss steel plate in the new type connection between the concrete-filled square steel tube column and reinforced concrete beam enhanced the connection integrity, and it can transfer the bending moment and shear of the beam end and has reliable performance.
