It is thought that any complicated compounded mechanical component can be a combination of basic factors through intersection, union and difference set. On this theory, this paper brings forward a method of getting isoline, in which we will analyze the mechanical components and drop them into basic model solids and spread the surface of basic solids into plane surface. As so, we can get the isoline from the plane picture, then reproduce the solid surface to the get isoline of the solid, and finally get the isoline of surface stress of the mechanical components by combine the solids together. It will be called DOR (Decompose- Outspread-Revert) in this paper. The main problems solved by DOR:1) Spreading the solid with the surface stress information through computer;2) Regularizing the value of discrete stress in the spreading solid surface graphics;3) Choosing and optimizing the methods of getting the isoline in the plane picture;4) Getting the method for reverting the isoline of spreaded basic model solid to basic solid surface;5) Getting the method for intersection, union and difference set' Boolean operation of the isoline of surface stress. At present, 65% CAD systems for the end users use AutoCAD as platform. If we can put DOR into CAD system, then all end users' system have the function of making isoline. Because of this, this paper introduces the DOR into AutoCAD system, and it also verifies this method by examples with imitated the data. The applying DOR to AutoCAD is actually the second exploitation of AutoCAD.This paper also introduced the method about the second exploitation of AutoCAD and the correlating technology and realizes the applying DOR in AutoCAD.
